For varied reasons, Mother’s Day can be very difficult. Whether you are dealing with the loss of your mother, a strained relationship with your mom, issues of infertility, or not having someone to call Mom, Mother’s Day can be a painful reminder of what we are missing in our lives.

On that Mother’s Day it is important to remember:

If you are longing to be a mother, opportunities present themselves to offer that kind of love to children who need that.

If you are mourning the loss of your mother try, when ready, to hold on to the love she brought to your life and know her spirit is always with you, protecting and guiding you. Her love will never leave.

If you don’t have someone to call mother there will be mother figures throughout your life who offer the kind of motherly love you need in a given moment.

If you have a strained relationship with your mother or no relationship at all, know that you are still whole and you are still loved.

Sending you love, understanding and comfort on Mother’s Day. Take care of yourself, honor your feelings and know that you are valuable and loved.
